Solar Photovoltaic Guide

Making the choice to go Solar, the best investment you can make for the future ...

Why Solar?
As energy prices continue to rise by the day, so does your utility bill, with the negative impact on your cost of living.

Investing in solar gives you the power to reverse this situation. With a solar grid system you can produce clean energy right from your rooftop and thus reduce your utility bill. You will therefore be protecting yourself and your family against rising electricity costs, while making a very concrete, positive contribution to the environment now and for the future generations.

In Australia, your location will determine which tariff you are eligible for. This will also determine what rate of return is generated by your system.

How Solar Energy works?
Solar panels on your roof will produce direct current (DC). Your home runs on alternating current (AC), so a grid system will have an Inverter to convert the current. The electricity produced will then be measured by either a Nett or Gross Feed In Meter.

  1. Solar panels convert sunlight into clean green DC electricity.
  2. Inverter converts DC electricity into usable AC electricity.
  3. New Digital Gross ‘Feed in Tariff’ meter that measures how much power your system produces and feeds back into the power grid.
New Digital Time of Use Consumption Meter that reduces how much power your home uses.
Exported electricity – when the solar system generates electricity the electricity generated goes back into the grid and spins your gross feed in tariff meter at a rate of 60kw/hr adding credit to your electricity bill.

Together with the systems production of electricity, your kw/h usage will determine the return on your investment.

How efficient is a Solar Panel?Solar Power Panel Installation
There are two common types of Solar panels on the market, Monocrystalline and Polycrystalline (Multi). There is little difference today in the efficiency of either panel but it is important to look for the guarantee of working efficiency. Our panels offer a 25 year performance warranty, as well as a 10 year product warranty, the longest lasting in the industry.

What size system do I need?
When considering the investment you want to make in a solar grid system, you will need to consider the number of panels required and determine the best place to install them.

Most common sized systems will require between 7 and 30 panels. Commonly quoted as a 1.5kw system through to 10kw systems.
